it is useless
to pretend to feel
what one does not
could you persuade yourself
to believe what you can't believe
if you're only half convinced
of the veracity of a claim
he was a man of outstanding gifts
plagued by recurrent dreams
of a heavenly goddess
in his consecrated enclosure
the visions were so imperious
he had a hard time not acting upon them
not without a note of derisive pride
disturbing the whole audience
learning that even though
he hadn't a penny in the world
his operation budget
was of millions of millions
one must incidentally admire
the touching docility
although it at some point
made me keep shaking hands
it would overtake me
indicate that there was
still a trace of
nervous stiffness
